Our Story
Whistle & Grey began around a very ordinary kitchen table.
As a mum of two, I spent years serving meals on bright plastic plates that scratched, stained, and never felt particularly special. I worried about what they were made from, how long they would last, and where they’d end up once my children grew out of them.
I wanted something different for our family — pieces that felt calm and beautiful on the table, were safe for little ones, and wouldn’t be destined for landfill after a short season of use.
During my search for alternatives, I fell in love with traditional enamelware — the kind that has lived in family kitchens for generations. It was strong, endlessly reusable, and quietly nostalgic, yet I couldn’t find anything that combined that heirloom quality with a playful, modern design.
So I decided to create it.
What surprised me most was realising that, in making enamelware for my children, I’d actually created something the whole family loved. The plate they reached for first. The cup everyone claimed. The bowl that moved from breakfast granola to garden picnics to hot chocolate on winter nights.
Whistle & Grey enamelware is made to be passed around busy tables, taken on picnics, dropped, stacked, and loved. Each piece is crafted to last, made without plastic or unnecessary coatings, and designed to become part of your family’s story — not just childhood moments.
We hope these little starry pieces will be used every day now, and still be here when today’s little hands are serving snacks to their own children.
Heritage quality. Created for family life. Made to last a lifetime.
